How Food Safe is Your Lunch?

Dr Catarina Marques is Research & Development Manager at Lowestoft based Adande® Refrigeration and is also a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate at London South Bank University. She is a graduate in Food Science and Engineering at the Polytechnic of Coimbra in her native Portugal. Catarina has recently presented a paper on minimising food moisture loss in professional cabinets at the 24th IIR International Congress of Refrigeration in Yokohama, Japan. The congress also held a debate on the cold chain, food quality and food safety. Catarina examines the issues relating to the refrigerated display of food to go in the grocery sector.

Hot Food Profit Pod is a Winner for HKS Retail

hot food profit pod In a joint venture, Adande® and Gamble Retail Solutions have supplied a hot foodservice ‘profit pod’ to HKS Retail Ltd’s forecourt store at a BP filling station in Leicester. The installation is part of the retailer’s new concept aimed at delivering fast service for hot food to go, including freshly baked pizzas, hot filled rolls, pastries, muffins, bagels, breakfast items and chips, as well as hot and cold drinks.

King of the Castle - Young's Brewery

Young's Brewery Pub Company at The Castle, Tooting Broadway, LondonAdande®, in partnership with National Facilities Management, has supplied refrigerated drawer systems to Young’s pub, The Castle in Tooting Broadway, south west London. Located on the high street, this local has been part of the Young’s Brewery pub company since 1832 and underwent a contemporary refurbishment in 2014.

And, the Lesson Today is… an Adande with Double Blast Chill Helps School ‘Increase Attainment’ in Food Tech Lessons Guildford High School Food Technology teacher

Helen Gowers is the first in the UK to use Adande technology as an aid in the school classroom. In use is a two-drawer side engine unit featuring Blast Chill on both drawers. This unit works alongside existing conventional refrigeration, which is used to store ingredients when the pupils arrive for lessons.

Cooked foods can then be quickly chilled as and when required using the two Adande blast chill drawers.

Adande® Aircell® Technology Installed at New Tesco Extra Eco Store

The first ever refrigerated display cabinets, incorporating Adande® Refrigeration’s Aircell® technology, have been installed at the new Tesco Extra eco store in Lincoln. Aircell® is a patented airflow management system, designed for open front refrigerated multi deck cabinets. The technology was designed and developed by Adande®, with extensive prototyping, testing, validation and support from refrigeration consultants, ECH Engineering.
